Locals of Cannock are in for a treat, as The Merchant reopened its doors following a £140,000 investment.

Highly regarded as a safe and local space and located on Market Place, the venue has been transformed into a new look cosy pub with a fresh and updated interior, maximising the contemporary space.

The drinks menu features a range of premium draught beer and local ales, including Backyard Blonde, as well as a creative range of spirits such as Hendrick’s Summer Solstice, Beefeater Blood Orange and Verano Watermelon gin. There are also party bowls and a selection of cocktails including the famous Pornstar Martini, classic Singapore Slings and refreshing Mojitos. Low and no-alcohol choices have also been added, including Gordon’s Ultra Low G&T and Cedar’s 0% gin.

With a varied food menu that’s known for being the best in the town, guests can build their own burgers, starting with double, triple or quadruple chicken, beef or soya patties and adding toppings such as classic cheese and bacon, BBQ sauce and Wotsits or Hot Buffalo sauce and crispy onions amongst others. There are also juicy chicken wings and dishes to share with friends, as well as pub classics like pies and fish & chips. An extended range of Vegetarian and plant-based dishes has been added and including meat-free tikka masala and meat-free sausage rolls.

As well as everyday offering breakfast and coffee, each day of the week sees a different food offer from chicken wings Mondays and burger & drink Tuesdays, to Best of British Friday and Weekend sharers. What’s more, every night will see the pub turn down the lights, bring out candles and soften the music, creating a relaxing, cocktail bar atmosphere for all guests.

The Merchant is also hosting a Christmas Light Switch-On party on Saturday 30th November from 5pm, for all those looking to get in the Christmas spirt.

With an extensive Christmas menu available throughout the festive period, the Merchant will be the go-to place to get your hands on a 3-course dinner for £12.99 – with a side of six Pigs-In-Blankets for an additional £1.50.
