Locals of Selly Oak will be ‘honking’ with happiness, as the Goose has revealed its brand-new look following a £250,000 refurbishment.
Located on Bristol Road, the revamp has made the pub the place to visit, with the new design bringing the venue up to date through a mix of leather and fabric upholstery that creates a snug and homely feel.
The Goose also boasts a fantastic sport offering, thanks to its bigger and better TV screen wall that will provide the very best viewing opportunities available, including the new football season and the Rugby World Cup. Bookable booths with individual screens will allow fans to catch the action with fewer distractions.
If that wasn’t enough, the pub will host a regular schedule of live performances for locals to watch with a pint in hand. A pool table and selection of board games will also be available to those hoping to wind down after a long day at work or university.
As well as installing cask ale, which includes Sharp’s Doom Bar and Greene King’s IPA, the pub is also offering options from local breweries including Sill Hill. Customers that prefer spirits can choose from over 20 blends of gin; classics such as Gordon’s and Tanqueray will be available alongside boutique blends such as OPIHR, making sure there is something for every gin-lover.
The pub is also welcoming a new food menu too. Guests can build their own burgers, starting with double, triple or quadruple chicken, beef or soya patties and add toppings such as classic cheese and bacon, BBQ sauce and Wotsits or Hot Buffalo sauce and crispy onions amongst others. There are also juicy chicken wings and dishes to share with friends, as well as pub classics like pies or fish & chips. An extended range of Vegetarian and plant-based dishes has been added and including meat-free tikka masala and meat-free sausage rolls!
