Following a supercar design competition with Barratt Homes, two imaginative pupils from Lighthorne Heath Primary School in Warwickshire are paying a colourful tribute to the local area.
With the leading housebuilder’s Aston Grange development situated just down the road from the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Barratt Homes wanted to help the pupils of Lighthorne Heath to understand and celebrate the historical value on offer there.
Local pupils Eily and Maggie were the winners of the competition and will see their designs printed and framed in the Aston Grange sales centre, in addition to each of them receiving tickets to visit the British Motor Museum whenever they would like for the next year.
Jill Manley, Associate Headteacher at Lighthorne Heath Primary School, said: “As a school, we are looking forward to the new opportunities that the housing development will bring to the local area. The children enjoyed working with Barratt Homes for this initiative and we look forward to hearing about the museum visit from the winners!”
Tanya Silk, Sales Director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, said: “It’s important for us to bring attention to and celebrate the local history and heritage in the areas in which we build, and we’re thankful to the pupils of Lighthorne Heath Primary School for helping us to do just that.
“The British Motor Museum offers a valuable insight to the industrial history of the country with the world’s largest collection of British cars. The pupils of Lighthorne Heath Primary School have paid fantastic homage to this with their beautiful designs.
“We received a variety of imaginative and creative entries as part of the design a supercar competition and it was a difficult task choosing the winners, however we hope this project has inspired the imaginations of the children involved.”
Aston Grange offers a collection of two and four bedroom homes to the local community, with ideal links to Oxford and Birmingham, and a short distance from a number of shops, bars, and restaurants.
