Leading Shropshire developer Barratt Homes is putting a spotlight on its freshly dressed show homes in Shrewsbury.
The three bedroom Ellerton and four bedroom Alderney show homes are now open at the housebuilder’s development The Lilies on Welshpool Road. Designed by Artspace, the homes’ interiors showcase a tremendous understanding of modern trends and complementary colours.
Kate Letteriello, MD at Artspace, said: “The Ellerton is a great home for a growing family, so we created a fun colour palette to reflect this! We kept the scheme light and bright with tones of soft pink, mint, lemon and lilac, paired with lots of texture like cotton and bouclé to keep it cosy.
“For the main bedroom, we went for a bold monochrome wallpaper and added velvet in the upholstery for it to feel more plush. In the guest bedroom, we decorated in the lemon and lilac tones which made it feel fresh. Finally, in the children’s bedroom, we went all out with a fruity theme! We used a watermelon wallpaper as the base and built the design from there with the bespoke fruit shelving and fruit drawer handles.”
In the living room and kitchen, an emphasis was placed on making the most of available space. A corner sofa provides adequate space for a working-from-home area, whilst the shelf running the length of the wall in the kitchen offers additional open storage.
Located in the western outskirts of Shrewsbury, the new community is conveniently positioned for residents to enjoy the very best of the popular market town. Those moving to the development can enjoy doorstep amenities including pubs, eateries and boutiques.
Kate continued: “The Alderney is an aspirational home with plenty of space for entertaining. We designed an opulent scheme with a rich colour palette of spicy tones and mustard, with elements of gold to really elevate it. In the living room we went for neutral walls, except for a feature wallpaper that stands out behind the sideboard.
“This home also has its own separate dining room, which we equipped for entertaining with seating for eight people along with a console to make cocktails on. We have had all walls wallpapered in here to give it a glam finish. In the kitchen, we have used the warm spice colour on the walls and balanced it with the light kitchen to ensure it doesn’t feel too dark.
“In the main bedroom, we have gone for a panelled effect wallpaper that adds class! The soft velvet headboard, textured sateen curtains, and feature light fitting create a sumptuous bedroom. In the second bedroom, we have gone for an arched headboard that is really on trend at the moment with people opting for more natural shapes rather than clean lines.”
With the development’s close proximity to the River Severn, the third bedroom was inspired by the waterway with a kayaking theme. The headboard is made up of painted oars, and the main feature is the large wall art of a kayaker coming out of the wall.
Tanya Silk, Sales Director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, said: “It’s always exciting to welcome potential homebuyers or those looking for design inspiration into our show homes and we hope these properties will be a hit.
“Having been expertly designed and styled by Artspace, those who come to visit the show homes can be assured they will be up to date with the latest trends.”
