Miller Homes has officially launched its new development in Shrewsbury, with househunters reserving properties online rather than in person.
The award-winning new homes builder has released the first selection of homes at Tudor Park on Oteley Road exclusively online and already has a good idea of which properties will prove to be the most popular.
Alastair Parsons, area sales director for Miller Homes West Midlands, said:
“People’s priorities have changed when it comes to house buying over the past few months with different features becoming more important to them. For example, Rightmove saw searches for homes with a garden increase by more than 100% this summer compared to 2019, while the Home Builders Federation found 40% of people would prioritise space for a home office if they were looking to move.
“All of our homes at Tudor Park have outside space and we believe that properties like the Ashwood, which have a separate study will be popular for larger families. Meanwhile three-bedroom homes like the Buxton and the Eaton will be snapped up by smaller families and couples, as the third bedroom can be easily used as a dedicated workspace.
“Fundamentally more buyers are now working from home and they’re looking for properties that offer the flexibility to strike that all important work / life balance.”
Tudor Park is situated close to the historic centre of Shrewsbury and, once complete, will offer 148 new two, three and four bedroom homes. Miller Homes has carried out a number of virtual launches over the summer and, as Alistair points out, the new way of doing things is proving popular.
“Of course we love meeting people in person, but we all know things have changed. We tend to find that buyers have done their research and many of them have been waiting for our new developments to launch. We’ve also been offering additional online resources like virtual tours.
“The online reservation service allows buyers to reserve the plot they want for a small fee and then one of our sales team will follow up with them within 72 hours to confirm the reservation. Feedback has been positive and it means we’ve been able to help even more people secure their dream home.”
More properties at Tudor Park will be released over the coming months, with a brand new showhome scheduled to launch at the site in December.
