National home builder, Miller Homes, has opened the doors to its latest showhome in Warwickshire, the five-bedroom Wolverley.
Located at the recently launched Montgomery Grange development on Arras Boulevard, Hampton Magna, in Warwick, the new neighbourhood features a selection of one to five-bedroom homes.
Here, Andy Richardson, managing director at Edward Thomas Interiors takes us on a virtual tour of the new show home, explaining more about the inspiration behind the styling of each room, along with tips for how to recreate the looks in your own home.
Hallway
We wanted to create an immediate sense of calm as you walk through the front door, which we’ve achieved with a cool blue colour palette and Scandi style artwork.
Lounge
This room really does pay homage to the three most popular interior trends right now – a statement velvet deep-buttoned Chesterfield sofa, textured wallpaper and bronze accessories. It’s meant to feel playful yet sophisticated at the same time.
Dining room
Dining rooms are the perfect opportunities to go big and bold. Consider designing a space that creates a talking point at dinner parties. The Wolverley’s dining room is all about opulence. Gold accents and black furniture teamed with an unusual monkey patterned wallpaper create an exotic and eye-catching combination.
Kitchen-diner
Farmhouse-style cupboards in calming pastel shades are popular on Instagram and Pinterest at the moment and it’s easy to see why. Their clean lines and traditional yet stylish finish all make for a perfect modern-day kitchen-diner.
Study
In this room we’ve created a sophisticated and inviting office space that harnesses plenty of natural light coupled with warm colours such as bronze, gold, peach and greens. The addition of geometric, art deco patterned wallpaper also helps to add a touch of class to the space too.
Downstairs WC
Dark tones and striking wallpaper give this downstairs WC some real personality. The industrial mirror and decorative walls are bold, statement style choices. But for a room that is often forgotten about in most homes, it’s the perfect opportunity to get creative with a smaller space.
Bedroom one
The straight lines, symmetry and vibrant colour palette in this room create warmth and elegance. The velvet panelled headboard and minimalist side lights are also a clever and subtle way of creating a sense of peace within the room.
Bedroom two
Adding an item of furniture that helps to bounce light back into the room, is a great way to make the most of natural light within any space. This light grey headboard, placed facing a window, helps to open up the space, making it feel light and airy. The neutral blue shade on the walls, teamed with cream and dusky pink also help to evoke feelings of calm tranquillity.
Bedroom three
The brick-effect wall, vinyl and studio lamps give this room an industrial vibe. The hand painted Batman canvas helps to tie together the room’s main colour palettes, blue and black with hints of yellow.
Bedroom four
The hand painted castle mural on the wall is a fun nod to the history of the location and nearby Warwick Castle.
Little touches like the hanging hot air balloons are a playful addition which were also purchased locally.
Bedroom five
In-keeping with the historic motor presence in the area, we wanted to recognise Jaguar Land Rover by creating this hand-painted mural of a circuit and old model cars. The custom-built bed also references the iconic shape of a Land Rover, with a nod to ‘Miller’ on the car’s registration plate.
Also worth highlighting here, is the choice to paint the ceiling a darker shade than the four walls – a trend to look out for in 2021.
Family bathroom
Placing a mirrored wall next to a window is a great way to maximise the natural light within a space, as shown here in the family bathroom. A light duck egg blue on the walls complements the sandy Moroccan-inspired tiling and makes the room feel open and spacious.
