Leading developer David Wilson Homes has welcomed two sisters to Drayton Meadows in Market Drayton, with the pair being among the final new residents to move into the now sold out development.
Following their move from Wolverhampton, Lily Man (35), who works in finance, and Ashley Man (34), who works for an insurance company, purchased their home in late 2021 and moved in earlier this year upon the completion of their build.
The sisters had moved together from Wolverhampton, with Ashley currently saving up for a place of her own.
Lily said: “There are so many benefits to living with a sibling – lots of laughs at mealtimes, helping each other with housework like the washing up and looking after each other when we’re unwell.
“It was Ashley that had convinced me to look into David Wilson Homes’ Part Exchange scheme, so without her encouragement, the move to Drayton Meadows may never have happened!”
Lily and Ashley purchased their new home using the developer’s Part Exchange scheme, which allows a far easier moving process. David Wilson Homes will purchase a customer’s previous home for fair market value, and deduct the cost from their new home. The customer will also be able to remain in their previous home whilst the buying process is completed.
On their move, Lily said: “We were very frugal and minimalist with our spending, and the equity from our house sale through the Part Exchange scheme meant our move was far more achievable than we realised. Part exchanging with David Wilson Homes took a lot of pressure off having to sell our house and potentially get involved in chains.
“We always wanted to move somewhere quieter with much more greenery, and being able to work remotely made that move a reality. We had previously owned a new build home and knew we wanted another – the warranties and lack of DIY jobs is fantastic and we loved having a blank canvas to work with.”
The home the sisters opted for was the five bedroom Emerson style property. The three storey home offers a wealth of space, featuring a kitchen with a separate utility room, four double bedrooms with an en suite in the main bedroom, a spacious dining room and a garage.
Due to the need for remote working, Lily opted to convert the single bedroom into a dedicated office in order to keep her work life and home life separate, as well as setting up a home gym in the garage.
As they have moved to an established community at Drayton Meadows, the sisters have also had the chance to meet their neighbours.
Lily continued: “It’s a really lovely area! I have already joined the local swimming centre and begun chatting to some of the residents. Everyone here is very friendly and approachable, it’s a really nice development and feels like one big family. We’re hoping to attend a street party being planned at the development for the Jubilee, too.
“I love that the development feels safe and private, it’s a truly remarkable aspect of life here. Everything feels very communal and familiar and I’m looking forward to getting to know our neighbours even better.”
Steve Barton, Senior Sales Manager at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “We’re so excited to welcome Lily and Ashley as valued members of our community here at Drayton Meadows.
“Although the first phase of our Drayton Meadows development has now sold out, homebuyers can turn their attention to the upcoming second phase, launching in 2023.”
