After the launch of Bishop’s Hill in 2019, the stunning Warwickshire development has now sold over 70% of its homes with homebuyers eagerly searching for an escape to the countryside.

David Wilson Homes has ensured that contributing to the existing communities in both Bishop’s Itchington and the surrounding areas has been one of its top priorities, with the recent installation of a residential noticeboard being the latest step in creating a harmonious community.

Early in its development, the developer pledged to help look after the local environment and wildlife, with all new residents being gifted a five-year membership to the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. All membership fees have gone towards the maintenance and care of local nature reserves, with residents being granted free access as well.

The following year, David Wilson Homes made a donation to a local man who had been raising money for Movember. Josh Evans, a former Royal Marine, had been running four miles a day in different costumes throughout November and December 2020. In the end, Josh doubled his initial target and raised over £3,000.

2021 was a particularly active year for the developer’s community outreach as it sought to further its aid of local causes during the pandemic.

A donation of £350 worth of new books was made to the local Harbury Primary School as part of International Children’s Book Day, and a further £300 was donated to the Bishop’s Itchington Men’s Shed. Men in Sheds is a charity that looks to support men’s mental health through communal DIY projects, and the donation went towards brand new equipment.

Following the easing of restrictions in the summer of 2021, residents at Bishop’s Hill held a street party to both celebrate a return to normality and to have a chance to properly meet their new neighbours. David Wilson Homes organised live music and entertainment to help its residents celebrate in style.

Rounding off the community outreach was a donation of new footballs and medical supplies to Bishop’s Itchington Football Club.

Steve Barton, Senior Sales Manager at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “Buyers considering a move to our Bishop’s Hill development will have the chance to join a very exciting community.

“We regularly seek to make contributions to both our residents and the surrounding communities in which we build and we are incredibly proud of the impact we have had in the area surrounding the development.

“Our residents are the most important part of our developments, so we will continue our community outreach and encourage others to do the same wherever they can.”

Bishop’s Hill is set amongst the Bishop’s Itchington countryside, which means that residents can enjoy a slower pace of life while surrounded by greenery. Bishop’s Hill Nature Reserve is a short walk away, whilst Leamington Spa is easily accessible by bus and car, and the M40 is nearby for commuting into Oxford and Birmingham.
