Hollywood Monster has partnered with Contra Vision and Premier Paper to bring a cost-effective and sustainable printing solution to Nottingham Universal Cinema.
Hollywood Monster is the first company to complete an installation using the completely PVC free product from Contra Vision. Tasked with developing signage for the front of the Nottingham Universal Cinema for an upcoming film release, Hollywood Monster used Contra Vision® Advance™ as an aesthetically pleasing and sustainable solution. The new graphics and signage will be used across 11 Universal cinema sites and changed every 2 months.
The Contra Vision® Advance™ product serves as a lower carbon footprint alternative to PVC signage and is set to launch initially in the UK and Europe in February 2024. With years of research into this product, Hollywood Monster was certain that working with Contra Vision was the best decision for the project.
Hollywood Monster is actively committed to implementing sustainable products and partnering with companies with the same values. The latest product from Contra Vision, used in this application produces less CO2 thanks to its PET films whilst maintaining durability and affordability. Additionally, with perforated window films, solar heat gain is minimised in buildings such as cinemas, resulting in a significant decrease in air conditioning requirements.
Over recent years, Hollywood Monster has been researching and testing new sustainable products to ensure durability and quality. As a regular user of Contra Vision products, Hollywood Monster was excited to use Contra Vision® Advance™ for this job and knew it would be a perfect fit.
Adam Paget, Head of Sales at EMEA and APAC at Contra Vision said “We’re excited to work with Hollywood Monster on the launch of our first PVC Free one-way vision film, the project looks fantastic. Having developed Contra Vision® Advance™ over a number of years, we see its first use as a positive step towards a more sustainable display graphics market.”
Contra Vision® Advance™ and Hollywood Monster brought the posters to life with beautifully vibrant colours. The product has not dulled out any of the visuals of the image ready for the film’s release.
Faye Ganderton, Internal Project Delivery Manager at Hollywood Monster had this to say about the project “We’re proud to have been selected for this project and look forward to bringing sustainable signage across Universal Cinemas. The result was a combination of beautiful graphics and the innovative new product from Contra Vision.”
Available in two transparencies (30% or 40%), Contra Vision® Advance™ is a versatile product that offers a blend of practical benefits and environmental sustainability for Universal Cinema.
The Contra Vision® Advance™ was supplied to Hollywood Monster by Premier, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of paper and materials for print. In addition, Hollywood Monster elected to Carbon Capture® their Contra Vision® Advance™ purchases, further enhancing the sustainability of this project.
Carbon Capture® is an industry leading environmental initiative that helps to mitigate the CO₂ emissions from paper, material and packaging purchased from Premier, directly supporting the work of the Woodland Trust. This trust is the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity, managing and maintaining native and ancient woodland sites. Carbon Capture® allows the end user to have a more environmentally state that’s a sustainable product without compromising on the quality.
Brad West, Director of Wide Format Media, at Premier, said “Contra Vision, the brand itself, and the product are fantastic and now having a green alternative is just a bonus. Hollywood Monster was the first out there to install it and we’re pleased to be a part of that.”
Hollywood Monster’s use of Contra Vision® Advance™ at Nottingham Universal Cinema demonstrates a significant move towards environmentally friendly signage, reflecting its commitment to sustainability in the display industry.
