Heathcote Primary School, located close to the housebuilder’s development, Beaumont at Warwick Gates, received a donation of two 45-piece children’s gardening equipment sets for its pupils to make use of, which included forks, trowels and watering cans.

The school on Vickers Way recently launched its brand new allotment, which is set to provide its children with an exciting outdoor learning experience.

National Children’s Gardening Week is an annual festival that’s celebrated in homes, schools and community groups across the country, and supports the Greenfingers charity which is dedicated to providing magical gardens for children in hospices suffering from life-limiting illnesses.

Cassie Shirley, Acting Head of School at Heathcote Primary School, said: “We are so grateful for the kind donation of gardening tools. Gardening is a fantastic way for the children to have hands on experience in our growing world, they gain a valuable insight into key areas such as food production and plant lifecycles.

“By having suitable equipment, the children are able to tend to their newly installed gardens, this will have such a positive impact on their overall wellbeing.”

The children at Heathcote Primary School can now look forward to planting and taking care of a range of flowers and vegetables as they continue to learn more about nature and maintain their outdoor space.

Dominic Harman, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “We hope our donation of gardening equipment to Heathcote Primary School will continue to help the children have fun planting as it enhances their ability to learn more about our natural environment.

“Children’s Gardening Week is a fantastic opportunity for schools to encourage their pupils to think about the benefits of gardening, and we’re pleased to have done our bit to enable Heathcote Primary School’s children to do so practically.”

Beaumont at Warwick Gates has six properties remaining, and anyone interested in securing their place in an established Warwickshire community is encouraged to visit the development on Vickers Way to avoid missing out.
