There was a great party atmosphere at a Wolverhampton home as residents and staff all came together for the King’s coronation celebration.

MHA Waterside House organised an indoor street party in their large cafe area with plenty of sweet treats.

More than 90 people including residents, staff and family members were part of the celebrations.

The home provides care for up to 60 people living with dementia.

There was also some live entertainment provided by Nick Golden, who performed some classics.

Michelle Jones, activity coordinator said: “ Everyone was really excited, and it was  a great day.

“There was a hot buffet prepared by the kitchen staff along with a lemon drizzle cake made with fresh raspberries and blueberries which formed the union jack.

“They also bought in plenty of other sweet treats and the atmosphere was really good.

“We made sure the coronation celebrations were spread all across the home and had plenty of bunting and flags.

“There were some great conversations amongst families and residents.

“Most of our residents still remember when The Queen’s coronation took place and they were remembering what happened during that period,

“I received some great feedback from the residents, and I am glad everyone had a great time.”
