The land has been secured as part of a brand new housing development for Barratt Homes in Dudley pending planning approval.

The 1.7-hectare site, located on Marriott Road, will become the latest development in the region for the leading housebuilder. The scheme, which is subject to change pending planning approval, proposes 91 properties in total offering a mixture of houses and apartments.

Adrian Evans, Managing Director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, said: “Being given the green light to draw up plans for this development moves us closer to delivering more properties to eager homebuyers in the West Midlands area.

“Whilst we are looking forward to beginning the build, our focus is now on processing the finer details and presenting our plans for the site to local homebuyers. This work will supply another boost to the region and provide a new and exciting opportunity to those looking to take the next step on the property ladder.”

The development would offer great access to the nearby Dudley town centre and the city of Birmingham, as well as convenient links to the M5 and M6 that allow for easy commutes to Worcester, Wolverhampton and Stoke-on-Trent.

As residents in the Primrose Hill area of Dudley, homebuyers would be within a stone’s throw of Dudley Canal and Netherton Reservoir, as well as Saltwells Local Nature Reserve. The Reserve, created on the site of a former mining quarry, is home to a variety of wildlife and sculptures that can be seen on the dog-friendly trails.

Within the local area, there is the Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Netherton CE Primary School for growing families, the Merry Hill shopping centre and many other easily accessible amenities.
