Following the completion of their first home at David Wilson Homes’ Drayton Meadows development in Shropshire, one homebuyer was so delighted with the level of service that it spurred a complete change in career.
Sian Mogg (34) and Tony Cage (40) decided to purchase their first house after previously owning separate flats. Having discovered their ideal home at Drayton Meadows in Market Drayton, the couple have now settled in with their dog, Bentley.
Sian was so impressed by the level of service that she and Tony received from the sales team that, shortly after moving in, she began working as a Sales Adviser for David Wilson Homes, and is currently based at Rose Place in Shrewsbury.
On her new career, Sian said: “Having been through the experience myself, I wanted to be part of other people’s journeys and give them the chance to go through the happiness that myself and Tony experienced from the sales team at Drayton Meadows.
“My dad was a kitchen fitter and knew quite a lot about the building industry, and David Wilson Homes was a company he always used to praise. We both felt it’s the best developer, and achieving the five star status for 12 consecutive years (at the time) was a huge attraction.
“There’s nothing better when it comes to selling than to have the actual product itself!”
The location was a huge factor in the couple’s decision. Market Drayton is located just a short walk away and is directly on the John O’Groats to Land’s End cycle path. The scenic town features gorgeous canals that are perfect for dog walking, cycling or an evening stroll.
As well as this, the M6 is within close proximity and there are easily accessible routes to Telford, Newcastle and Stoke, which means that commutable work distances or plentiful high streets for retail therapy are all close by without interrupting the quaint countryside feeling.
Tony, a General Warehouse Operative, said: “When it came to considering our move, it was the pandemic that opened our eyes. We decided to have a complete change of career and location from where we lived.
“We had a look in the Shropshire area as my dad had recently moved to Whitchurch and were immediately impressed. The amenities are incredible with all of the pubs, shops and green spaces nearby – and we were also surprised by the price and just how much more we could get for our budget.
“As we had both previously owned flats, thankfully the equity from the sales was more than enough to purchase our home. We opted for the four bedroom Bradgate style property with a big reason being the kitchen and dining area, it’s perfect for entertaining!
“We also wanted an extra room downstairs as I play guitar and wanted a dedicated music room.”
David Wilson Homes has announced that Drayton Meadows in Market Drayton has successfully sold out, although a second phase will be coming in 2023. The leading developer is currently building elsewhere in the Shropshire area at The Grove at Doseley Park in Telford and Rose Place in Shrewsbury.
